Ghana’s national cricket team finished as runners-up in the Four-Nation T20 tournament held at the Achimota Senior Secondary School grounds in Accra.
The tournament formed part of preparations ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup African Sub-Regional Qualifier B, providing participating nations with competitive match practice and an opportunity to fine-tune their squads.
Ghana delivered an impressive campaign, winning four of its five matches, but ultimately fell short of clinching the top spot.
The hosts began their campaign on a strong note, securing a six-wicket victory over Seychelles after chasing down 72 in just 10.1 overs.
They followed it up with a hard-fought two-wicket win against Malawi, successfully chasing 99 in a tense encounter that went down to the final over.
Ghana continued their fine form with a dominant nine-wicket victory over Saint Helena, cruising to 78/1 in just 6.4 overs after dismissing their opponents for 77.

Their most commanding performance came against Eswatini, where they posted an imposing 178/5 before bowling out their opponents for 95 to seal an emphatic 83-run win.
Despite their strong run, Ghana had to settle for second place, with Tanzania emerging as the winners of the tournament.
The competition, staged across the Achimota Senior Secondary School A and B fields, ended with a closing ceremony at Alisa Hotel’s Ridge hall that celebrated both performance and participation, as players and officials from all teams gathered to mark the end of the event.
As hosts, Ghana received praise for successfully organising the tournament, highlighting the country’s growing capacity to stage international cricket competitions.
More importantly, Ghana’s strong showing carried into the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup African Sub-Regional Qualifier B, where they secured qualification to the next stage.
Having booked their place in the subsequent round, Ghana will now shift focus to the regional qualifiers, where they will face tougher opposition in their bid to move closer to a historic appearance at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
